Today is that three day weekend that everyone uses to welcome summer. While the beach is full of visitors and backyard barbecues are underway, it is important that we remember the origin of these somber holiday. We must remember all of those that have served and sacrificed over the long bloody history of the United States. From the fields of Gettysburg to the beaches of Normandy…Americans have died at home and abroad defending our values and freedoms. Additionally, the service members that have been reported MIA over the centuries, and the families that never found the peace of closure. Only few had to carry this burden compared to the American population overall, and thus we must never forget their sacrifice. Remember these people…each and every day, and remember those that are directly effected by the tragic loss of a service member.
